1. About Us

YoungLearners is an online 11-plus exam preparation service. References to "we", "us", or "our" mean YoungLearners. For any queries, contact us at [email protected].

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

• The Platform is intended for children aged 9–12 preparing for the 11-plus examination, their parents, and their teachers.
• Users under 13 must have an account created and managed by a parent or guardian.
• By registering, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and complete.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure. Do not share your password with others.
• One account per person. Sharing accounts between students is not permitted.
• We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms.

3. Subscriptions and Payment

3.1 Free tier

A limited free tier is available without payment. Free tier access may be restricted to a subset of subjects, question types, or features. We reserve the right to change what is included in the free tier at any time with reasonable notice.

3.2 Paid subscriptions

• Paid subscriptions are billed monthly or annually in advance.
• Prices are displayed on the Platform and are inclusive of any applicable VAT.
• Payment is processed by Stripe. We do not store your card details.
• Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled.
• You will receive an email receipt for each payment.

3.3 Cancellation

• You may cancel your subscription at any time via your account settings or by contacting us.
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain access until then.
• We do not offer pro-rata refunds for partial months unless required by law.

3.4 Refunds

You have the right to a full refund if you cancel within 14 days of your first purchase, provided you have not made substantial use of the paid features during that period (your statutory 'cooling-off' right under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013). To request a refund, email [email protected] within 14 days of purchase.

3.5 Price changes

We may change our subscription prices. We will give at least 30 days' notice by email before any price increase takes effect for existing subscribers.

4. Acceptable Use

By using the Platform, you agree not to:

• Copy, reproduce, distribute, or commercially exploit any question content without our permission
• Use automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access or extract content
• Attempt to circumvent access controls or subscription gates
• Impersonate another user, teacher, or parent
• Upload or transmit harmful, offensive, or illegal content
• Interfere with the Platform's security, integrity, or performance
• Use the Platform for any purpose other than personal, non-commercial exam preparation

Breach of these rules may result in immediate suspension or termination of your account without refund.

5. Intellectual Property

All content on the Platform — including but not limited to questions, explanations, images, graphics, software, and branding — is owned by or licensed to YoungLearners and is protected by UK and international copyright and intellectual property law.

You are granted a limited, personal, non-transferable licence to access and use the Platform's content for your own non-commercial 11-plus preparation. You may not copy, share, publish, or sell any content from the Platform.

6. Teacher Accounts

Teachers may create accounts to assign practice to students and monitor their progress. By creating a teacher account:

• You confirm you are a qualified or professional educator or tutor.
• You are responsible for ensuring that any students you add have parental consent to use the Platform.
• You may only view progress data for students who have been linked to your account.
• You must not share student data with third parties or use it for purposes other than supporting that student's learning.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Platform is provided "as is" and "as available". While we work hard to maintain accuracy and availability, we do not warrant that:

• The Platform will be uninterrupted, error-free, or always available
• All question content is free from errors (if you spot a mistake, please report it)
• Use of the Platform will guarantee any particular exam result

Question content is designed to be representative of GL Assessment-style 11-plus papers. We make no representation that specific questions will appear in any actual examination.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by UK law, YoungLearners shall not be liable for:

• Any indirect, incidental, or consequential loss arising from your use of the Platform
• Loss of data, revenue, or exam results
• Any interruption to service

Nothing in these Terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud, or any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Our total aggregate liability to you shall not exceed the total amount you have paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

9. Third-Party Services

The Platform uses third-party services including Supabase (database), Netlify (hosting), Stripe (payments), and Resend (email). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and policies. We are not responsible for the actions or failures of these providers, though we take reasonable steps to ensure they meet appropriate standards.

10. Changes to the Platform and Terms

• We may update, change, or discontinue features of the Platform at any time. We will give reasonable notice of significant changes.
• We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by email or on the Platform when we do. Continued use after changes are published constitutes acceptance.
• The most current version of these Terms is always available at younglearners.co.uk/terms.

11. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform at any time if:

• You breach these Terms
• We reasonably suspect fraudulent or harmful activity
• We discontinue the Platform (in which case we will give reasonable notice and pro-rata refunds)

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
